English version
The European Innovation Council (EIC) has published its Work Programme for 2027. Alessio, Unknown’s EU funding expert, went straight to the “Other Actions” section, where Europe’s ambitions for the startup and innovation support ecosystem show most clearly. As the final year of Horizon Europe, 2027 looks like a year of consolidation, with a few notable actions:
- €400 million in additional funding for the Scaleup Europe Fund, the privately managed and co-financed growth fund for major European-led investment rounds;
- €6 million for the EIC Booster Grant Scheme, with top-up grants of up to €50,000 for EIC Pathfinder and Transition beneficiaries;
- €1 million to strengthen the EIC’s data and analytical capacity for evidence-based decision-making;
- €15 million to continue Women TechEU, probably the most successful startup support initiative the EIC has launched in recent years.
For an ecosystem builder like Unknown, these programmes shape how founders across Europe get funded and supported. At Unknown Campus and Unknown University of Applied Sciences, we will keep working to strengthen Europe’s innovation ecosystem in 2027, while preparing for the changes the next Framework Programme will bring.
Founders don’t think in borders, and neither do we. Together, we are building the support ecosystem for founders that will shape the future economy, in a vibrant district driven by culture, talent and purposeful enterprise. Working on the same mission? Let’s connect and explore how we can collaborate.

- €400 miljoen extra voor het Scaleup Europe Fund, het privaat beheerde en mede gefinancierde groeifonds voor grote, door Europa geleide investeringsrondes;
- €6 miljoen voor de EIC Booster Grant Scheme, met aanvullende subsidies tot €50.000 voor deelnemers aan EIC Pathfinder en Transition;
- €1 miljoen om de data- en analysecapaciteit van de EIC te versterken, voor beleid dat op bewijs is gebaseerd;
