Sustainable Impact Challenge

Eni and Unknown group signed a partnership to support digital solutions in scaling their ventures in Africa and successfully bring their innovations to the market of Angola and together contribute to a positive sustainable impact.

The Sustainable Impact Challenge is an open call to all startups and scaleups which are working on solutions within Off-grid energy, Water Management and Environmental Protection. The challenge has two channels:

Local for Local:

If you are a local startup or scaleup, already present in Angola, we want to help you scale your solution by exploring possible partnership opportunities and the potential for a collaboration to, together, support the sustainable development of the community.

Global for Local:

If you are a foreigner startup or scaleup, you will receive support to expand your business in the geographies where Eni is active, together with the opportunity to work with Eni and further develop your solutions within the mentioned innovation domains.

CHALLENGES

Work together with Eni on one of these challenges!

OFF-GRID ENERGY

There are 840 million people currently lacking access to electricity around the world. Off-grid solutions have helped millions of people gain access to energy. Particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, which has some of the world’s largest energy access gaps. More financial investments will be required to speed up the deployment of off-grid solutions to reach many more people!

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Environmental protection techniques and technologies implemented to control and protect the natural environment and ensure that resources are used in a sustainable and fair manner without harming the environment or putting people’s health or safety at risk.

WATER MANAGEMENT

With the world’s population expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050, it’s now more important than ever to make ‘more with less’. As the water supply and sanitation (WSS) sector continue to face increasing pressures, particularly due to the effects of climate change, governments in developing countries will need to strengthen the sector’s resilience and sustainability. Innovation and technology benefit scarcity and safety, water efficiency, utility operations, monitoring and treatment, data, and analytics.
